Trim Levels


The five trims for the 2021 Ford Edge are SE, ST, SEL, ST-Line, and Titanium. Most of SE's exterior accents are black, but the rear spoiler is body-colored. It has stainless steel dual exhaust pipes and 18-inch alloy wheels. The entry is keyless too. The SEL exterior features are body-colored, but its roof rack side trails are silver. It has a keyless entry and a power panoramic sunroof. The front grille of the ST is a black mesh design with an ST logo. Other features include 21-inch wheels, summer-only tires, sport-tuned suspension, and trapezoid dual exhaust pipes. The ST-Line has all-black exterior features. The rear and front bumpers are lowered, and it adds a honeycomb grille and 20-inch wheels. The Ford Titanium trim has silver roof rails, a panoramic glass roof, a power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, 19-inch standard wheels, and adaptive headlights.

Engine


The Ford Edge comes with two engine types. The SE, SEL, ST-Line, and Titanium have a 2.0-liter turbocharges four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet torque. It also has a standard front-wheel drive (FWD), with an optional all-wheel drive (AWD). The ST has a 2.7L twin-turbocharged V6 engine with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque and is all-wheel drive (AWD).

Performance


The four-cylinder engine has smooth transmissions in most instances and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds. The fuel economy for standard FWD models is 21/29 mpg. FWD models can control steering and entire body movements and move with ease along highways and uneven roads. The AWD takes about 8 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph. Its fuel economy is 21/28 mpg. The 2.7 twin-turbocharged V6 engine is quicker and can achieve 60 mph in around 6 seconds. Its brakes, suspension, and power steering can handle any maneuvers and curvy road. For such a performance, its 19/26 mpg fuel economy is reasonably good.

Interior


This two-row SUV can accommodate five people. The well-cushioned and manually adjustable seats are standard. Other available features include genuine leather or synthetic upholstery, heated and cooled front and rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. The cargo area is also spacious, measuring 39.2 cubic feet and 73.4 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. It is also fitted with a SYNC 4 infotainment system displayed on a 12-inch vertical touch screen. Other interior features include wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, four USB ports, navigation,12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and Amazon Alexa.

Safety


The 2021 Ford Edge received five out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Authority. It received four stars and five stars in the rollover test and frontal and side crash tests, respectively. All models have standard rear parking cameras and sensors, lane keeps assist, automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic high beam headlights. Advanced safety features include front parking sensors, hands-free park assist, adaptive headlights, front-facing camera, and adaptive cruise control.
