Trim Levels
With four trim levels to choose from, it isn't hard to find a Ford Escape that you'll always love driving. You'll notice that each Escape has an elegant yet athletic profile. On the S, this beautiful design gets a boost from features like a sleek black grille, a race car-inspired rear spoiler, and dazzling dual chrome exhaust tips. The SE announces its arrival with a richly textured mesh black grille with chrome accents. The SEL adds halogen fog lights and roof rack side rails. While the Titanium's LED lamps are beautifully sculpted, they're also highly efficient, consuming less energy than conventional lamps and producing more light. All trim levels give you a stunning selection of exterior colors, including Rapid Red, Antimatter Blue, and Carbonized Gray.
Engine
Wherever you want to go, you can count on the 2021 Escape to give you enough power to get there. Lower trim levels come equipped with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost with an output of 180 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The SEL gives you the option of upgrading to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. Standard in the Titanium, the robust four-cylinder can put out 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. When you add the Class II Tow Package, you can use your Escape Titanium to tow up to 3,500 pounds. All models feature fuel-saving start/technology, making both engines incredibly efficient.
Performance
The Ford Escape thrills with its impressive performance dynamics. Both EcoBoost engines team up with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers seamless gear shifts, precise acceleration, and sharp handling. A nimble front-wheel-drive enables the Escape to expertly maneuver through crowded streets. If you want even more stability and control, you can swap out the front-wheel drive for an all-wheel-drive with AWD disconnect. This innovative feature, exclusive to Ford vehicles, enables the drive system to switch between all-wheel and front-wheel capability, depending on the driving situation. By reverting to front-wheel drive when all-wheel drive is unnecessary, the Escape can save even more fuel.
Interior
The Escape's five-seater cabin provides you and your passengers with plenty of headroom and legroom. When the rear seats aren't in use, you can fold them flat with the touch of a button to access 65.4 cubic feet of cargo space. The S and SE feature premium cloth seating surfaces that are comfortable and easy to clean, so you don't have to stress about spills and other messes. Inside the SEL, you'll find ActiveX seating surfaces that look like leather and have an incredible resistance to wear and tear. The Titanium comes with luxurious leather seating surfaces befitting a top trim.
