The 2021 Ford Explorer comes in the base trim, and from there, drivers can opt for the SLT, Limited, ST, King Ranch, and the luxurious Platinum. The standard trim is equipped with P255/55R20 all-season self-sealing tires, 20-inch premium-painted aluminum wheels, and splash guards. It also boasts a dual-panel moon roof, roof-rail crossbars for cargo, a wheel lock kit, and a license plate bracket.

Engine

With a large 2.3-liter, EcoBoost®, four-cylinder base engine, the 2021 Ford Explorer is powerful. This eco-friendly engine delivers a torque of 310 lb-ft at 3500 revolutions per minute(rpm). The second engine option for the 2021 Ford Explorer is the 3.0-liter EcoBoost® turbocharged V-6 engine which is even more powerful and offers the speed and acceleration driving enthusiasts would prefer with a larger vehicle. It comes with either 360 or 450 pound-feet torque, making it great for long drives and heavier cargo. The engine is also equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The 2021 Ford Explorer has a turbocharged engine standard and accelerates quickly. The V6 engines are even stronger and accelerate faster. The Explorer gets slightly better gas mileage than its competitors and also has pleasantly weighted braking and steering, making it feel agile and smooth to drive.

Interior
